Fluvis is an antifriction composite of enhanced wear-resistance based on fluoroplast-4 and modified carbon fibres.
The material is remarkable for its chemical resistance, high thermal stability, low coefficient of friction, high wear resistance and high sealing ability. It is intended for manufacturing of friction unit parts: sealing elements of compressors and pumps, friction-type bearings and ball stop valves. It can be used in air and liquid media, in dry and wet gases and can be utilized in vacuum in the temperature range from minus 200 to plus 280 °С.
The main advantage of articles produced of Fluvis compared to articles of steel, bronze, cast iron, graphite and polymer materials is their ability to operate without lubricant. Fluvis enables dramatic extension of service life of any dry friction units totally excluding counterbody wear.

Wear resistance was determined on compressor piston seal at the pressure of 20 MPa without using cylinder lubricant at the reciprocation rate of 240 rpm and the delivery temperature of 150 °С. In these conditions, wear rate equaled 0.07 mm/1000 h.
So, its wear resistance is 2.5 times higher than that of Flubon and 12 times greater than that ofФ4К20. It is superior to materials produced by foreign companies such as Garlock (Germany) and SPL (England).
